Where is my API key? How do I use it?

The API key is a unique code that represents the bridge between ShortPixel Image Optimizer and our service. After you register a ShortPixel account, you will receive an email with the API Key. In case you don’t receive an email for any reason, you can find your API Key by following the instructions below.

  1. Log in to your ShortPixel account
  2. From your dashboard, go to API Keys.
  3. The API Key is the string of 20 letters and numbers.

Important: Do not press the “RESET YOUR API KEY” button unless you explicitly want to do that.

To use it on WordPress, you need to log into your website admin area, then navigate to Settings > ShortPixel, paste it where requested, and click the Validate button.
