They\u2019re handy if you own the account but don\u2019t manage the website, so you can give access without sharing your main API key, billing details, or other account info.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"callout-blue\">Please note that this feature is not relevant for ShortPixel Adaptive Images (SPAI), because SPAI <a href=\"https:\/\/shortpixel.com\/knowledge-base\/article\/how-to-associate-a-domain-to-my-account\/\" rel=\"noopener\">does not depend on an API Key<\/a>.<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What&#8217;s the difference between <a href=\"https:\/\/shortpixel.com\/knowledge-base\/article\/how-subaccounts-feature-works\/\" rel=\"noopener\">subaccounts<\/a> and API Key Aliases?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shortpixel.com\/knowledge-base\/article\/how-subaccounts-feature-works\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Subaccounts<\/a>: you allocate a certain number of credits from your main pool of credits, and only that subaccount can use those credits. Subaccounts also have their own account through which they can purchase credits themselves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>API key aliases<\/strong>: they act as an alias and use the same credits as your main account.
