What and where is the API Key?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The API Key is a unique code that represents the bridge between ShortPixel Image Optimizer<\/a> (SPIO) and our service. After you register a ShortPixel account<\/a>, you will receive an email with the API Key. In case you don’t receive an email for any reason, you can find your API Key by following the instructions below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log in<\/a> to your ShortPixel account<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. From your dashboard<\/a>, go to API Keys<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The API Key is the string of 20 letters and numbers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Important:<\/strong> Do not <\/strong>press the “RESET YOUR API KEY” button unless you explicitly want to do that.<\/section>\n\n\n\n

    How to add it for the first time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If you just installed SPIO on your WordPress site and need to add the API Key for the first time, you need to navigate to Settings <\/em>> ShortPixel, <\/em>paste it where requested, and click the Continue<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How to replace an old API Key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If you have changed your API Key and need to replace it on your WordPress site, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Go to Settings > ShortPixel > Overview<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Click on the Show API Key<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Enter it on the new text box that appears.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Click on Save settings & validate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
